Maulin Shah, J.D.
Managing Attorney
Maulin is a patent attorney specializing in invalidity searching and patent valuation modeling, and he routinely assists clients with validity, infringement, patentability, and clearance opinions. Maulin is licensed in California and before the USPTO, and he is listed as one of the world's leading IP strategists in the IAM Strategy 300 for 2015 and 2016.

Maulin received dual BSc degrees in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, and a JD from the University of Florida College of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude and served as an Editor of the Technology Law and Policy Journal.

Tara warwick, j.d.
Patent Attorney, Of Counsel
Tara is a patent attorney licensed to practice in North Carolina and before the USPTO.  Her legal background includes IP litigation and opinion work related to patent validity and product clearance. She gained laboratory experience conducting quality control testing of pharmaceuticals for Perrigo Company.
Tara received a BSc in Biotechnology with a minor in Biochemistry from Calvin College.  She received a JD from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, served as a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society, and received the Thomas M. Cooley Leadership Achievement award.
Alex lee
Scientific Advisor; Telecommunications and Consumer Electronics
Alex manages Envision IP’s search and analysis group, and is responsible for client engagement.  Alex is a former USPTO patent examiner, where he worked in various telecommunications-related art units. After leaving the USPTO, Alex served as a consultant at IBM Global Technology Services.  Alex’s primary areas of focus are consumer electronics and software technologies.
Alex received a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. 
John L. Beres
Scientific Advisor; Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering
John is a former USPTO patent examiner and a registered patent agent (Reg. No. 52,440) with over 25 years of experience in the patent industry. John specializes in the mechanical and biomedical arts. He previously spent twelve years as a patent examiner, where he taught junior examiners about the prior art searching process, as well as the use of various searching tools.
After leaving the USPTO, John worked as a patent agent at the Litman Law Offices where he oversaw the search department and assisted clients through various stages in the patent application process.

John received a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Widener University.
William j. piazza
Scientific Advisor; Software Engineering and Consumer Electronics
Bill is a registered patent agent (Reg. No. 75,108) with over 35 years of applicable industry experience at IBM and Lenovo. While at IBM he was presented with over 28 formal and informal awards, including Outstanding Technical Achievement, Outstanding Innovation, and Division Excellence Awards. Bill was recognized as a Master Inventor at both IBM and Lenovo. He is named as an inventor on over 60 US and foreign patents. Bill is a licensed amateur radio operator (KB4QVY).
Bill received a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science in Computer Science from  the University of Miami.
Scientific Advisor; Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
Vinod specializes in chemical engineering, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and various pharmaceutical equipment, facilities, and process technology. Vinod is a 35 year veteran of the pharmaceutical industry. He spent his engineering career at Merck & Co., Burroughs Wellcome, and GlaxoSmitKline as a senior project manager overseeing drug and consumer health products manufacturing.
Vinod received a BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from the Louisiana State University, and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
Kesha Desai, m.d.
Scientific Advisor; Medical Devices, Imaging, and Healthcare Information Systems
Kesha is a board certified radiologist who specializes in musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging. Kesha's primary focus is on CT, MRI, and ultrasound technologies. She has extensive experience with prosthetic and implantable devices, picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), medical voice transcription technology, and medical records systems.
Kesha received a BA in Psychology from Emory University, and her MD from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She completed her radiology residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, followed by a MSK fellowship at Duke University.
